Hog Roast at GJs


Whether it's a spit roast, a hog roast or even a spit braai, a pig or a lamb, at GJ's this is our speciality.


A pig on a spit is a fantastic, mouth watering way to enjoy a sunny summer's afternoon or evening or an ideal way to warm your cockles on a cold winters night with mulled wine and roast chestnuts. We will marinate and season the pig and cook it to perfection on hot coals for up to eight hours until you are ready to eat.


We have two formats, the ""easy-pig"" which is the simple way of enjoying the roast. The easy pig is an informal way of eating and will be served simply with fresh baguettes, apple sauce and salad. For the more formal occasions we will tend to the pig as normal but the service will be done as a ""sit down"" meal and will be served with delicious pasta, salads, savoury rice, baked potatoes and all the trimmings.


The choice is yours, and if lamb is your preference, we can oblige but please take note that a lamb will feed only a maximum of 70 guests.The price for an Easy Pig or Lamb starts at £400 or for a Full Pig or Lamb and buffet, it's £500. There will be an extra charge for "pig outs", when we come to you. We will cater for groups of 30 or more.
